Christmas Decor

It was so fun decorating the house for Christmas.  The first thing I learned... I don't have enough decorations.  I'll be hitting up the sales after Christmas this year for more stuff!  Working with what we had, this is what I came up with for this year.

This is a view of our tree from upstairs.  I had to trim some branches from the back so I could shove it in the corner better.  If I left it the way it was, you would have a hard time getting in the bathroom :)Still looks great.

Here's one of my ornaments from my secret elf on Elfster.

Here's my other ornament from my secret elf.  The black part is velvet.  Very pretty.

Here's another view.

And another angle.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.

Here's my dining table centerpiece.

I've had this little snowman box for quite a few years, but never had anything to put in it.  This year, I stuffed it with the extra branches I shaved off the tree.  I just need to add some little ornaments or something.

I made this wreath yesterday.  Wow!  Was it easy!!  Just a wire coat hanger & some shatterproof balls.  Voila! Easy peasy.  This is going on our front porch.

Here's some of my rocking horses from Christmas past.  Each year Santa brings me another.

I tried taking a picture of the tree with it's lights on, but... I forgot to turn the rest of the lights off :)

Here's the other ornament wreath I made.  It matches so well against the darker green walls in the living room.  I just need a great big bow & it'll be perfect.

By the way, this wreath wasn't as easy as the other.  The holes to thread the wire through weren't big enough to fit through the coat hanger.  Luckily, I had some wire on hand.  A little more time consuming, but still came out nice.

1/2 Bath- DURING

The 1/2 Bath is supposed to be BM Green Cast.  This definitely doesn't look even a little green to me.  It still looks nice, just not green.  My dad painted this room.  He did a great job!

Here's the window in the 1/2 Bath.  It has never been painted.  It's going to need a lot of paint.

Kitchen- DURING

I sold the old fridge & stove on craigslist.  The new applliances are coming on Tuesday.  Matt took down the hood too.  We're waiting on my uncle to install the new one.
The wall color is BM Pale Smoke.  The color changes depending on the light.  Sometimes it looks very silver, sometimes gray, sometimes blue.  It's going to look so good with the stainless steel appliances.

See how blue it looks here.

This picture looks more silvery to me.

Ignore the mess.  We've been working hard.

This looks blue again.

After some polish & some new hardware, I think the cabinets look 100x better.  Once we pulled the old pulls off, there was a ring from where they were.  We had to buy these really chunky pulls to cover it up.  I'm glad we did though.  I think it looks great!

Here's a look at the bottom cabinets.

Here's the new stove & hood.  Thanks to my Uncle for installing the hood.  Yippie!

Here's the new fridge, still with it's shipping plastic on it.  Awww.

And my favorite appliance of all.  The DISHWASHER!!!!!  xoxoxoxo!!!!!  It's been 10 years since I've had a dishwasher.  YIPPIE!!!!

Our next project is to replace that awful floor.  I've had my eye on some concrete/cement looking tile.  Can't wait to start that project.

We have so much cabinet space, everything has plenty of room.

Laundry Room- DURING

They installed the carpet in the laundry room too.  I think I'd rather have tiles in here, but that's okay.  It looks so much better.

Basement- DURING

Carpet pad has been put on the stairs.

I love the new berber carpet!  It looks great!

There's our new rug, just waiting to be installed.  It's a brown berber.

More carpet pad has been laid down.

Look at the difference already!

Most of the ceiling tiles have been installed.

Here's the basement berber carpet.

Carpet is finished!  Yippie!

Living Room- DURING

Here's the fireplace wall with it's first coat of BM Natural Element.

Here's my Dad cutting in for the 2nd coat of BM Central Park.

I love this color!

We're starting to move some furniture in.  Here's the new tv that Matt got for free.  New speakers & rug.  Notice the tv stand that took us 2 days to put together too.  What a pain in the neck.

The Fios man stepped on the lamp shade, which is okay because I wanted to get a new one anyway.  Another thing added to my long shopping list.

The recliners have been moved in.  Not sure if I like them there yet, but it's fine for now.  Notice Lady checking out all the boxes.

Dining Room- DURING

Here's the first coat of both the BM Natural Element & BM Central Park.  Central Park is lettuce color green.  It looks so good!

Here's Matt painting the Central Park wall.  He's looking a little tired.

My Dad & Matt painting the first coat on the green walls.  Aren't they doing a great job?!!

They're both being very careful not to spill on the hardwood floor.

Here's Matt painting the 2nd coat of BM Natural Element.

Here's the 2nd coat of BM Central Park.  I love it!

Here's our new dining set & area rug.

I'm so glad I can finally put that table in the corner to good use.  The top part can be removed to become a serving tray.

Upstairs Bath- DURING

The new toilet has been installed.  I also ordered top down/ bottom up blinds, so everyone can enjoy the toilet in peace.  I'm standing in the tub, trying to take this picture.

I've been searching online, for the perfect shower curtain.  I've seen so many that I like.  I just have to go see them in person to see if the blue will match.
This wall color is BM Hawaiian Breeze.

I was able to get the window, toilet & vanity all in this picture.  I'm going to change out the knobs on the vanity.

This is looking in from the dressing area.

This picture most acurately shows the right shade of the blue.

Matt's Dad was able to take down the huge mirror behind the vanity.  I was going to just try trimming it in crown molding, but now that it's down, I guess we'll just get a new one.

Here's a better angle of the vanity.
